Board Members

Dr. Robert B. Somerville, D. Min, has served as a Senior Pastor since 1972 and is currently is the Director of Summer Institute in Biblical Counseling at The Master's College.  He has been a Fellow with the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors (NANC) since 1988, is a member of the NANC board and brings over 10,000 hours of pastoral counseling to the ministry.  He serves BCEC as the Chairman of the Board.

 

Pastor Chuck Andrews - has been Administrator of the Biblical Counseling and Educational Center in Visalia since the beginning of the center in 1991. He is a certified member of the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors and the International Association of Biblical Counselors (IABC) He is a board member and Vice-President with IABC. He has been involved with biblical counseling since 1989. Chuck has a B.A. degree in Psychology and Christian Counseling and an M.A. in Biblical Studies, both from Louisiana Baptist University. He has over 6,000 hours of counseling experience, and has developed and taught seminars for the center. Chuck and his wife Debbi, have been married since 1979.  

 

Mrs. Helen Domena - earned her diploma as a Registered Nurse from St. Vincent's School of Nursing in Billings, Montana. She is a certified member of the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors and the International Association of Biblical Counselors. She has counseled with BCEC since 1992 and has over 2,000 hours of counseling experience. She and her husband Ray, of 45 years, have three grown children and four grandsons. She is an active member of the Visalia Evangelical Free Church.

 

Mr. Lester Moon - earned his Associate of Arts in Business from Adirondack Community College and a Bachelor of Science, Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.  He has counseled with the Biblical Counseling and Educational Center since 1998 and has over 1,000 hours of counseling experience.  He and his wife Leslie, of 19 years have three children. He is presently  involved in Revival eX church in Exeter, CA.

  

Mr. Romel Pumarejo - has a B.A. in criminology and an M.A. in Biblical counseling. He has worked as a probation officer, drug and alcohol counselor and is currently a social worker for a faith based foster home agency.  Romel has volunteered as a Chaplin for the local law enforcement agency and has served as an associate pastor.  Romel is NANC and IABC certified.  He founded the Family Biblical Counseling and Training Center of Fresno and has been doing biblical counseling for 11 years.  He has taught discipleship classes through out the valley and teaches in Mexico on an annual basis.  Romel and Elia have been married since 1977.  They have two grown sons.

 

Mr. Mike Anderson - has a B.S. from Fresno State in Secondary Education, an M.A from Northern Arizona in history and business.  He owned his own business since 1974 and retired in 2007.  He is IABC certified.  Along with his wife, Sherry, they established a counseling ministry at their church (Porterville Evangelical Free Church).  Sherry is IABC and NANC certified.  They conduct training classes, seminars and workshops in discipleship training on various topics.  Mike has his private pilots license.
