COURSE OF STUDY: Theology of Christian Counseling (In development)

Required Reading

Statement of Faith
Must be in agreement with the STATEMENT OF FAITH of BCEC.

Ministry Involvement
Must be actively involved in a body of believers.
Must provide a letter of recommendation from their ‘Lead Counselor”.
Must have the recommendation of the Board of Directors of BCEC.
Must provide an updated letter of recommendation from their pastor or
church board stating that they are growing in the qualifications of
leadership outlined for church leaders found in 1 Timothy 3.

Prerequisites
Complete all requirements for Level I, II, III, & IV.
Complete 50 hours of supervised counseling as a team leader or co-
leader and provide case report forms for each hour.
Complete and pass testing for approval by the National Association of
Nouthetic Counselors / IABC (International Association of Biblical Counselors)

Entitlement
Level V Certificate entitles the individual to assume the role of ‘Lead
Counselor”.
Level V Certificate qualifies the individual to be on the Board of
Directors of BCEC.
Level V Certificate qualifies the individual to be a Supervising
Counselor.

Exceptions
Exceptions to any of the above requirements must be approved by 2/3rds majority vote of the Board of Directors of BCEC.

* The completion of the required reading must include a two to three page synopsis per book.
